Living & Gathering — Fenny Drayton, Warwickshire

Bridal Cottage

This project centres on sociability and function. Deep navy cabinetry provides structure and depth, offset by warm timber shelving, brushed brass details and simple glass pendants that soften the overall composition.

  • The deep blue island anchors the room, providing generous workspace and a natural place to gather, while the surrounding cabinetry is painted in a soft, muted grey to keep the space calm and balanced.

Natural materials were chosen throughout — from the timber details to the understated hardware — bringing warmth and texture without drawing attention away from how the room is used.

Small, thoughtful details make the space feel personal: a window seat for quiet morning coffee, dedicated drawers for family pets, and storage designed around how the household really functions.

  • Cabinet Style: Modern In Frame Shaker

    Colours: Little Green ‘Basalt’

    Workstop: Xtone Ars Beige Porcelain

An open larder forms part of the architectural rhythm of the room — practical, accessible and intentionally visible. Rather than conceal everyday items, the design accommodates them, reinforcing the sense that this is a kitchen designed for real use.

Generous proportions and clearly defined zones allow multiple activities to happen simultaneously, from cooking to conversation. Materials were chosen for durability and tactility, ensuring the space remains resilient under daily demands.

The finished kitchen feels composed yet informal — a practical environment designed to support the pace and patterns of family life.
